It is just a piece of paper and for many is often a last minute thought, but the hen party invitation is actually quite an important element to consider for your next hens party. The invitation sets the whole feel of the party and is particularly important as the typical hens party has a lot of elements that require money, transport and costumes. If you have a poor invitation then you risk people being unable to find the venue, get lost between venues or be unprepared financially (a real disasterm, particularly if you are footing the bill). The invitation needs to be clear on the attire requried otherwise you will find a lot of the guests will not dress up or will not put in a lot of effort – basically no one wants to get involved and then find they are the only one!! So give your guests confidence with your invite and get them involved in the whole thing before they even attend!

If you haven’t already heard, the new big thing at the moment is to combine the Stag and Hen Parties for a different feel. Now I’m not sure how I feel about this in general as I think that it does lose something of its meaning. But where I have seen this work the best is with hen stag weekends. Th
e reason for this is that by combining the two you get the best of both worlds. You all have a great weekend away, you can have your seperate time to grill and laugh with the hen, but you alo have the advantage of bringing the couple together. I particularly like this when you quiz the couple together and when you all have breakfast together the next morning after a big one away.
Whatever your style if the hen and groom cannot stand being apart then look at this one as a serious possibility.

For one time in your life you have an oppurtunity to be a complete angel with this hens party theme. Dressed all in white with your shining halo you and the girls can be an absolute vision for all that come across your path. This theme is about purity and can be great for girls that do not want to do the usual flirty guise and activities but want some classy hen party ideas instead.
With this theme you can give out saint cards to other hens or people you meet that act kindly or are beautiful in some way (not just physically). You can also provide heavenly foods and play games such as pass the halo. However, there is always of course the ironic route where you may dress up as angels but the devilish behaviour is lurking beneath…

If you like dancing with the stars and X-factor then it is now time for you to be the judge! Give each of the girls a set of cards numbered 0-10. Then throughout the night when a guy comes passed you will all hold up your cards to determine what you think!
The great thing about this game is it gets the girls talking and is very funny as one man will be determined as super hot by one girl and as sleazy and disgusting by another. Just watch the women justify their marks.
For added fun try to rope in some guys for an impromptu competition and have them dance, sing or perform in some way so the girls can rate them. Just remember you may need a prize of some sort to get them to participate in your fun and hens party games.
• Rate the Man – This is an ideal game for going out on the town. Each lady has cards from 1-10. When a guy walks by or comes in the door, he’s rated by the party. Try to come up with an impromptu contest like a dance or striptease contest and recruit volunteers from the bar.

The ultimate in sexy attire is the playboy bunny and with this theme you have to be pretty daring as you pull on a tight little outfit with bunny ears, fishnet stockings and high heels. But the pay off is grand as you attract a LOT of attention. So if you and your girlfriends want to sex it up in a big way then this is the perfect theme for you.
The added benefit of this theme is that there are load of novelty items availble and bunny ears can be worn by all of your guests so the total outfit is not compulsory.
Now you have the costume sorted the next thing you will want to do is find a venue where you can show off your hotness. For me the best place for this is a bar/club. Basically you want to find a place to dance, or as one I attended to sing!

Do you remember playing doctors and nurses when you were younger? There was just something so much fun about looking after a patient and making them feel better… well as an adult this has not gone away, but the nurses have gotten sexier and the check-ups a lot raunchier. This hens party theme is excellent for that sexy look but also for creating an overall theme with games, decorations and venues.
For games you can play operation and take shots for bad removals, or do dares in which the bride and/or hens must find males to undergo a series of check-ups. The more involved the check up the higher the points.
You can also use doctors coats, fake needles, and general hospital good as props and decor ideas.

Strippers have often been a staple of the hens party and I think they always will be. But if you want to go down this route you need to ask yourself one very important question first of all – who is attending! The biggest downer on a night with a hot man strutting his stuff is for some of the guests to be uncomfortable or in some cases I have seen – to leave.. So make sure you either know the people that are coming or ask the bride beforehand. In some cases it may just mean having the stripper earlier or later but save yourself the grief of a ‘flop’ if you can.
However, once this is sorted you can go to town and decide on just how personal an experience that you want to have! The main options are:
1. A well known strip club. In a set venue like this you can all just watch the general public show or order one of the guys for a private lap dance or show for just your party. The added benefit is there are lots to choose from.
2. Hire a guy to come to your home. The advantage of this is you have the stripper all to yourself and you can really make it personal for the hen on the night. You can also choose one in advance that will take most or everything off.
3. The third is to go to a show like ManPower or the Chippendales. These are choreographed shows and will usually have the hottest of men, great show moves and have that wow factor that the others will not have. The downside is this is not as personal.
4. Finally there are venues now that supply topless bartenders, strippers and basically lots of naked men to serve you all night. These venues tend to get very raunchy however so check out the place in advance. I have seen some venues that offers a whole lot more than a strip show which is not for everyones taste at all.
As you can see there are plenty of options so get out there and have some fun.

A perfect compliment to the policewomen theme, this hens party game is all about handing out punishments and dares to the people in and around your party. To begin you will need to prepare a note book beforehand that has numerous pre-written ‘tickets’ and some blank pages as well. The objective is to then have the bride and/or guests to walk around looking for infractions. For instance you may decide that a tight trousered man has a concealed weapon, or that another is overly drunk and disorderly.
You then hand out your tickets which will include fines such as giving the provider a kiss, a drink or basically whatever you like.
The flip side is to also hand out rewards for doing something good, usually the ticket then allows the recipient to receive something from the girls instead. Finally, this hens party game can be taken to another level by introducing your own rules amongst the girls for the duration of the hens party. If any of the hens break these rules during the night they will receive a ticket or a shot as penalty.

If you look back on your secondary school career with loving memories then the school girl hens party theme might just be the perfect match for you. First and foremost this theme is SEXY. Think Britney Spears in ‘Hit me baby one more time’. A short skirt, tied shirt and a tie will definitely create the ideal look. You can then decide if you want to be a naughty rebel or a goodie two shoes and play the part throughout the night. I like this because you can act out any personna you like. Just see how the shy hens suddenly become flirty!

The other element of this hens party theme is that it will take you back to your own school days. Think about music and activities that you enjoyed when you were a girl for the full effect. A game of spin the bottle is a perfect one for this - either invite some guys over to your table or play a womens only version.
The venue can be anywhere, but there are numerous retro bars and even ’school days’ themed parties around these days so get searching and I’m sure you will find a location to suit your look and feel.

Planning a hens party can be like planning a mini-wedding. You have guest lists, venues to book, transport to find, activities to arrange, costumes to wear, and the list goes on and on… Now this used to a huge task but thanks to technology we now have the means to make things easier. Here are a couple of recommendations for making your life a whole lot easier:
1. Facebook – set up an event and invite all your friends in one go. The guests can RSVP online and you can email updates as you go. The limitation of this is if friends are not on facebook they can often get left out!
2. Use a hens party planner service. There are a number available online, but my favourite is from Hens Party HQ. This service allows you to invite guests, send out updates, location maps, add photos and generally just set up your hens party all in one location.
