Do I have a Hens Party or Hens Weekend?

Over the last couple of years there has been a change in the way that many women do the Hens Party and that is to extend the event from just one night to a whole weekend!  This has many upsides, but also a couple of downsides so you before going down this route I would encourage you  to read through and be sure that the weekend is for your bride.  If it is then get to it!

The main positive to a weekend event is pure time.  By taking out a couple of days you allow everyone an opportunity to attend for at least some of the time and to feel involved, and also allows everyone to get to know one another better.  You may not think this is that important but in a situation where a lot of women may not know each other this is a huge benefit.

On top of this it also provides a chance for the bride to get away from all of the wedding prep and have a real break, not just a couple of hours on a Saturday night, but a true relaxation or party time.

However there is a disadvantage to this kind of event and that is money.  Weekends away will always cost more than a night out no matter how well you plan it.  Free accommodation will help, but then there is transport and food and of course drinks!  This is usually fine for the closest of friends, but the girls on the peripherary may be turned off such an event.

In short I would check to see who is coming, who they will know and also the average  cost per head that you think the weekend will cost.  That way you can make everything clear from the outset and plan accordingly.
